Discover Taiwan

As a rite of passage, generations of teenagers have entered the area at night looking for creatures and haints said to roam the mist-covered realm. And it’s not unusual to hear reports of loud booms coming from its depths. In case you were wondering how to make the Japanese black burgers that were seen all over social media recently, here is a pictorial guide. You can buy powdered bamboo charcoal if you don’t want to crush your own.
I highly recommend a viewing of the other images on the Arch Daily website. 96 bamboo column units composed of 4 bamboos together induce the 伴手禮 台東 vertical expression of the bamboo structure like bamboo forest. A virtual bamboo forest even noisier than the bamboo forest at Damyang.

At the end of today you will be overnight at Kaohsiung's Garden Villa, this 5 star hotel was the accommodation for Dali Lama during his visit in Taiwan in 2009. Tour will stop at the famous Wenwu Temple and Literature Warrior Temple dedicated to Confucius as Master of Pen and to Kuan Ti as Master of Sword, Holy Monk Shrine and Peacock Garden. After touring around the Sun Moon Lake, proceed to hotel for check in, stay overnight at Sun Moon Lake. The hotel we stayed at is Fleur De Chine, which is the newest deluxe 6 star hotel at Sun Moon Lake, which is the only hotel in the area that has the unique detox hot spring & spa facility inside the hotel. This is a cultural leisure hotel located in Taitung City. Enjoy offers such as free wifi, express check-in and out, tour desk, and free parking. It's a 15-minute walk away from Taitung Train Station, and the closest convenience store is 5 minutes away on foot.

Green Island - this island located off the east coast of Taitung offers coral beaches, tropical forests, and fresh saltwater hot springs. Visit SuSu Second-Hand Bookstore & Guesthouse in the city center and play with the local owners' two pet cats who call the shelves their home. These natural hot springs have been famous since the 18th century as a place of rejuvenation and relaxation in nature.
It is the island's oldest and now fourth largest city. With its long history, Tainan is rich in historical sites and cultural heritage. The tour will take you to the romantic Love River and famous Lio Ho Night Market.

Often the biggest challenge in expanding our horizons is not knowing where to start or what to try. Here is a quick guide on some foods you definitely want to sample on your next trip to Taiwan. There are dozens of outlying islands to explore including Green Island, Orchid Island, or the Penghu Islands.
"This place is home to the Formosan macaque." The trail is one of more than a dozen in the park, with equally imaginative names - others include the Swallow Grotto Trail, the Eternal Spring Shrine Trail and the Buluowan Trail.

from what i remember Tainan has more of the old stuff, lots of old heritage buildings, lots of old temples, old fort, houses etc, museums etc. some famous salt field called Jingzijiao Wapan Salt Fields on the far outskirts. Or another alternative is doing the East Coast of Taiwan. Taiwan no way can do 3-4 places if you wanted to. I booked a trip, also after Taipai where should I go as a second city. Taoyuan MRT – This is one way to move between TPE Airport and Taipei. The bus is cheaper than the MRT but you may risk getting caught in traffic. MRT costs NT$160 pp to go from the Airport to Taipei.
Thanks for the replies, have decided to go late October/early November. We're thinking of going Melbourne to Guangzhou, then to Beijing for a few days, then Taipei, then home via Guangzhou. Much of a muchness – if I could, I wouldn't visit during those months. I didn't buy a SIM card but my friend, whom I was travelling with, bought one at Taoyuan airport without any dramas. It took her about five minutes – she travels on an Australian passport.
hsr station is kind of far like up near the lake with the Dragon and Tiger Pagodas. i can only speak on my limited experience as i didn't stay that long there. i actually stayed near the kaohsiung main station which is near where the old station was. anyway that's what i suggest based on what i know. the hsr station is kind of far like up near the lake with the Dragon and Tiger Pagodas.
